Tasting Note
The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella Selezione Antonio Castagnedi offers up violets, graphite, black cherries, minerals, earthiness and French oak in a vibrant, structured style. There is terrific richness and depth to be found in the glass. Ideally the tannins could use a touch more polish, but that is a relatively small quibble for an Amarone that delivers this level of quality for the money ... Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018.
